If your kids are anything like mine, they are basically walking around with scraped-up knees all summer. When they’re running, biking, scootering, and skateboarding all day, it’s bound to happen!

With three active kids, we go through a lot of bandages at my house.

How do you clean up those owies to help the skin heal quickly? I’ve got a simple DIY solution for you!

This blend is really easy to put together. It’s simply Lavender, Melaleuca, and Frankincense. (All three essential oils come in my favorite wholesale enrollment kit, contact me to get yours.)

Why these three essential oils?

Lavender soothes the skin and reduces the appearance of skin imperfections.

Melalueca cleanses and rejuvenates the skin.

Frankincense does it all! It’s soothing, cleansing and rejuvenating, and it also supports the immune system.

Put these three together, and you have the perfect natural solution to quickly heal up the inevitable owies.

To Make Owie Spray:

  1. Buy a small glass spray bottle. The one I’m using is 2 oz.
  2. Add your essential oils. 20 drops each Lavender, Melaleuca, and Frankincense.
  3. Fill the remainder of the bottle with fractionated coconut oil.
  4. Label if you’d like! I like to add bottle-top stickers to all of my DIY roller bottles and spray bottles so I remember what’s what.

To Use:

Shake before use. Spray directly on owie a few times per day until skin is healed.

*I purchase fractionated coconut oil and bottle-top stickers from my doTERRA account.

Not much of a DIYer?

We also love doTERRA’s Correct-X at our house. It’s a great ointment to apply to any skin irritation. We apply Correct-X directly to distressed skin as well as apply to bandages.
