In an ideal world, I would get up at 5am feeling well-rested and begin the day with a nice meditation, affirmations, and journaling, followed by a workout and a healthy breakfast at the table. Well, as a business owner and mom of three, I haven’t figured out how to make that work.

I do, however, absolutely prioritize self-care because it sets the tone for my day and makes all the difference in my mood and productivity. (And yes, part of that is getting up early enough to fit it in!)

I start the day with healthy choices. This includes a workout, essential oils and supplements, plenty of water, and a healthy breakfast. Let me break it down for you:

Wake up and use Peppermint Essential Oil before a workout. Sometimes my workout is a trip to the gym, other times it’s 15 minutes in my basement! Either way, putting a drop of peppermint essential oil in my hands and breathing in deeply is a game-changer for my energy levels. (I only use Peppermint after I’ve put my contacts in! Peppermint stings if you get it in your eyes!)

Use my morning go-to Oils when I’m getting ready for the day. The essential oils I use every morning are Clary Calm on my abdomen (to help balance mood and hormonal support), and HD Clear Topical Blend (for any breakouts) and Immortelle Anti-aging Blend (on lines and imperfections) on my face. I also love Balance Grounding Blend (to manage stress) on the bottoms of my feet.

Drink my Lemon Water Elixir. My first warm drink of the day is not coffee or tea! I want to make sure I’m well-hydrated. Even if you don’t exercise in the morning, you are dehydrated when you wake up. Don’t start your day with caffeine first! My morning Lemon Water Elixir is full of helpful enzymes and supports healthy digestion and cleansing.

Lemon Water Elixir Recipe:

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon Bragg’s raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 -1 teaspoon raw honey
  • 1-2 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Get the Diffuser Going. Sometime in here I get the diffuser in the kitchen running. It’s typically OnGuard Protective Blend (for immune support) and/or a citrus oil like Wild Orange or Citrus Bliss. We usually need that uplifting power from citrus at my house. 🙂

Take my supplements. I take supplements along with my water and breakfast. My morning regimen includes:

  • PB Assist probiotic, a must-have for gut health which is vital for your immune system and your mood! 
  • doTERRA Lifelong Vitality Supplements which includes my vitamin and mineral complex, essential oil omega complex, and cellular vitality complex. Not only am I getting daily nutrient support, I’m getting a daily dose of powerful essential oils like frankincense.
  • Terrazyme Digestive Enzyme, I notice a huge difference when I take one with my meals!

Drink my Breakfast. While I get my munchkins ready and off to the bus, I drink my smoothie. I have tons of go-to recipes that are healthy and super simple. Drinking a smoothie has become my go-to because it’s a crazy-delicious start to the day, and it’s the easiest way I’ve found to guarantee a healthy breakfast.

Drink my coffee. Then, and only then, I get my organic coffee or caffeinated tea. I breathe, sit down to work, and use the essential oils topically that I’m drawn to support my need for focus, motivation, calming, or uplifting. Whatever the day requires! I love the Touch bottles and apply to pulse points like my wrists and the back of my neck.
